Why does CsCl adopt the crystal structure of NaCl when it is heated at - `480^(@)C`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

CsCl having `8:8` coordination on heating to - `460^(@)C` or 760K changes to NaCl structure having `6:6` coordination, because with increase in temperature coordination number decreases.
