Amount of water present in 3g of hydrated calcium chloride=(3-1.52)=1.48g
`therefore` Percentage of water is hydrated salt`=(1.48)/(3)xx100=49.33`
Gram-formula mass of anhy. `CaCl_(2)=(40+2xx35.5)=111g`
Quantity of water associated with 1.2g anhydrous salt=1.48g
`therefore`Quantity of water associated with 111g of 1 mol of the anhydrous salt`=(1.48xx111)/(1.52)=108.07g`
Therefore, the quantity of water associated with 1 mol of anhydrous `CaCl_(2)` is 108.07g.
