Out of `Cl_(2) and O_(2)`, which one will have greater mass when taken in equal volumes at the same temperature nd pressure

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let the volume of `Cl_(2) and O_(2)` gas be V mL.
At same temperature and pressure, each gas contains n number of molecules.
Mass of n molecules of `Cl_(2)=71xxn` g
Mass of n molecules of `O_(2)=32xxn` g
Therefore, under the same conditions of temperature and pressure, the mass of `Cl_(2)` will be more than that of `O_(2)` when taken in equal volumes.
