What is `kg-mol` ? Calculate the total number of electrons present in 1kg-mol of `N_(2)`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

One kg-mol (or one kilo mole) is the molecular mass of the substnace expressed in kilogram. In CGS system 1 gram-mol of a substance contains avogadro's number of particles `(6.022xx10^(23))`. In SI systemms 1kg-mol of a substance contains avogadro's number of particles but its value is `6.022xx10^(23)` thus, 1 kg-mol of `N_(2)` will contain `6.022xx10^(26)` molecules and hence, `14xx6.022xx10^(26)=8.4308xx10^(27)` electrons.
