Two particles P and Q are moving with the same velocity, but de broglie wavelength of P is thrice that of Q. what do you conclude?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since `lamda prop(1)/(m), lamda_(p) prop(1)/(m_(P)) and lamda_(Q) prop(1)/(m_(Q))`
`therefore (lamda_(P))/(lamda_(Q))=(m_(Q))/(m_(P)), or (m_(Q))/(m_(P))=(lamda_(P))/(lamda_(Q))=(3)/(1) or, m_(Q)=3xxm_(P)`
Therefore mass of Q is thrice that of P.
