Calculate the energies (E(1) and E(2)) o...

Calculate the energies `(E_(1) and E_(2))` of radiations with wave lengths 800 pm and 400 pm. Also compare their energies.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`E_(1)=(hc)/(lamda_(1))=((6.626xx10^(-34))xx(3xx10^(8)))/((800xx10^(-12)))=2.48xx10^(-16)J`
`E_(2)=(hc)/(lamda_(2))=((6.626xx10^(-34))xx(3xx10^(8)))/((400xx10^(-12)))=4.96xx10^(-16)J`
`therefore E_(2)=4.96xx10^(-16)J=2xx2.48xx10^(-16)J=2E_(1)`.
