Is there any change in hybridisation of B and N-atoms as a result of the following reaction?
`BF_(3)+NH_(3) to F_(3)B*NH_(3)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In `BF_(3)` molecules, B-atom is `sp^(2)`- hybridised and in `NH_(3)` molecule, N-atom is `sp^(3)`-hybridised. In the product molecule, both B and N atoms are `sp^(3)`-hybridised.
