If P is plotted against 1/V for 1 mol of an ideal gas at `0^(@)C`, then a straight line passing through the origin is obtained. What the slope of the straight line?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For 1 mol of an ideal gas, `PV=RT or, P=RT//V`,
At `0^(@)C or 273K,P=273R//V`
Hence, the slope of the P vs 1/V plot is =273R.
