Compare the viscoaity coefficient of the following liquids at a particular temperature: Propanol `(CH_(3)CH_(2)CH_(2)OH)`, ethylene glycol `(HOCH_(2)-CH_(2)OH)` and glycerol `(HOCH_(2)-CHOH-CH_(2)OH)`.

The number of OH groups in the molecules of `CH_(3)CH_(2)CH_(2)OH, HOCH_(2)-CH_(2)OH and HOCH_(2)-CHOH-CH_(2)OH` are 1,2 and 3, respectively so, the number of hydrogen bonds formed per molecule of `CH_(3)CH_(2)CH_(2)OH, HOCH_(2)-CH_(2)OH` and `HOCH_(2)-CHOH-CH_(2)OH` are 1,2 and 3, respectively. thus, the order of the intermolecular forces of attraction of the given liquids will be propanol`lt`ethylene glycol `lt` glycol, again, stronger the intermolecular forces of attraction of a liquid, the higher the value of its viscosity coefficient. thus, the order of viscosity is propanol`lt`ethylene glycol`lt`glycerol.
