Usingg the equation of state PV=nRT, show that at a given temperature, density of a gas is proportional to the gas pressure P.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

PV=nRT or, `PV=(g)/(M)RT` [M=molar mass of gas in `g*mol^(-1)`, g=mass of gas in g]
or, `PV=(g)/(V)RT=dRT` [d=`(g)/(V)` density off the gas]
since R is constant `dprop P`, when T is constant.
