We know that Ohm's law gives the resistance offered by a conductor by measuring steady current (I) flowing through the conductor and voltage drop across the ends of the conductor :
We also know that ammeter is always connected in series with the call to measure current flowing through the conductor and voltmeter is always connected in parallel to the cell to measure voltage drop across the conductor.
