We know that in steady state , no current flows through the capacitor (C) therefore current flows through the outer circuit .
We also know from the Kirchhoff's second law that in the outer close circuit .
`2V - (1 xx 2R) - (1 xx R ) - V = 0 `
(or) ` I = (2V- V)/(3R) = (V)/(3R)`
`:.` Potential difference across 2 R resistance
` (V_(1)) = (V)/(3R) xx 2R = (2V)/(3)`
and potential difference across the
lower arm `(V_(2)) = 2V - (2V)/(3) = (4V)/(3)`
Thus potential drop across the capacitor
`= V_(2) - V = (4V)/(3) - V = (V)/(3)`
