Why is pulling the lawn roller preferred to pushing it ?

Let a lawn roller is pulled by means of a force F with some angle `theta` to the horizontal .
By resolving the force into two compoments.
(1) Horizontal component F `costheta` is useful to pull the body .
(2) The vertical component F `sintheta` opposes the weight
So N.R = mg - F `sintheta`
But frictional force `mu` . N.R
`therefore` Frictional force `[mu("mg"-Fsintheta)]` decreases.

So it is easier to pull the body .
When the roller is pushed by a force , the vertical component F `sintheta` causes the apparent increase of weight of the object . So the normal reaction N.R = `mg+Fsintheta` .
`theta` Frictional force `[mu("mg"-Fsintheta)]` increase and it will be difficult to pull the body .
