How does magnetic field due to current carrying conductor vary?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Magnitude of the magnetic field produced at a given point increases with increase in the current passing through the wire. This results into increased number of concentric circles representing magnetic lines of force.
(ii). Magnetic field produced by constant current in the wire decreases as the distance from the wire increases. Thus, the concentric circles representing the magnetic lines of force are shown bigger and rarefied as the distance from the wire increases.
