A non protein organic group without which certain enzymes are incomplete. The protein part of an enzyme is known as apoenzyme, when united with enzyme either temporarily or permamently to form an active enzyme known as holoenzyme. Co-enzyme not only provide a part of attachment for the chemical group being transformed but also influence the properties of the group.
