Balls A and B are thrown form two points lying on the same horizontal plane separated by a distance 120 m. which of the following statemet (s) is/are correct ?

A

The two balls can never meet

B

The balls can meet if the ball B is thrown 1s later

C

The two balls meet at a height of 45 m

D

None of the above

The correct Answer is:
C

Two balls with meet, if
`(50 cos 37^(@)) t_(A) = 120` or `t_(A) = 3s`
Vertical component of A is also `50 sin 37^(@)` or `30 ms^(-1)`, so they will meet if thrown simultaneously.
`h_(A) = h_(B) = 30 xx 3 - (1)/(2) xx 10 xx (3)^(2) = 45m`
