d) In `CO_(2)`
Weight of `CO_(2)`= 100
Weight of carbon = 27.27
Weight of oxygen = 72.73
27.27 g of carbon combines with 72.73 g of oxygen 1 g of carbon combines with =`(72.73)/(27.27)` = 2.66` of oxygen
`therefore` Ratio of C and O in `CO_(2)` = 1:5.3`
If sulphur and oxygen were to combine to form `SO_(2)`, according to law of reciprocal proportions. They must combine in `5.3:2.66` or `2:1`.
In `SO_(2)`,the ratio of `S:O` is `1:1`.
thus, the ratio betweente two ratios is `2/1:1/1` = `2:1`
Since, the ratio of `S:O` is a simple whole numbers ratio, therefore law of reciprocal is proved.
