`AICI_(3)` is covalent while `AIF_(3)` is ionic This can be justified on the basic of .

A

valence bond theory

B

crystal structure

C

lattice energy

D

(d) According to Fajan's rul, smaller the anion, lesser will be its polarisibility. Hence in `AIF_(3),F^(-)` ions are polarised to very little extent, therefore it has more ionic character. In `AICl_(3)` are polarised to greater extent (due to larger size), hence `AICl_(3)` has more convalent character.
