When compared to CN^(-),NO^(+) and CO,N(...

When compared to `CN^(-),NO^(+) and CO,N_(2)` is chemically inert. Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Nitrogen is inert because of non-polar bond nature and high bond dissociation energy `(N -=N)`. The rest all are polar molecules which can easily dissociate to participate in chemical reactions.
