Compound 'A' with -3 and +5 oxidation st...

Compound 'A' with -3 and +5 oxidation states on the central atom (s) gives +1 oxidation compound 'B' on heating. 'B' is a stable neutral and linear molecule and isolectronic with `CO_(2)`. On heating 'B' at `500 - 900^(@)C`, a molecule 'C' is obtained. 'C' can also be prepared by heating a mixture of `NH_(4)CI` and `NaNO_(2)`. 'C' is mixed with excess of hydrogen gas and heated at `450^(@)C, 200` atm pressure in the presence of `Fe//Mo` to produce 'D'. 'D' on heating with liquefied `CO_(2)` at `150^(@)C` and 15 atm pressue, an important fertilizer 'E' is produced. 'C' on heating with `CaC_(2)` at above `500^(@)C` and 6-8 atm pressure another important fertilizer 'F' is obtained.
Compound `D + H_(2)SO_(4) rarr x,x` is

A

`CaSO_(4)`

B

`(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)`

C

`Ca(H_(2)PO_(4))_(2)`

D

`K_(2)SO_(4)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

`NH_(4)NO_(3) overset(Delta)rarrN_(2)O+H_(2)O`
`N_(2)O overset(Delta)underset(500-900^(@)C)rarr N_(2)+O_(2)`
`NH_(4)CI +NaNO_(2) overset(Delta)rarr NH_(4)NO_(2)overset(Delta)rarr N_(2)+H_(2)O`
`N_(2)+H_(2) rarr NH_(3)`
`NH_(3)+CO_(2) overset(Delta)rarr NH_(2)CONH_(2)`
`N_(2)+CaC_(2) overset(Delta)rarr CaNCN +C`
`B = N_(2)O, C = N_(2),D = NH_(3)`,
`E = NH_(2)CONH_(2), F = CaNCN`
