Let `sigma` be the surface charge denstiy `vecE` be the electric field intensity.Let A be the cross-sectional area of G.S.
Flux across the base areas will be the same.

Net flux through them `=2Ea cos theta` where `theta = cos 0^(@)=1`
ie. `phi=2EA`
From Gauss' law
TOEF `=phi=1/(epsilon_(0))` (total cahrge on the plate)
i.e. `2EA=1/(epsilon_(0))(sigma A)`
ie. `E=(1/(2 epsilon_(0)))sigma`
and `vecE=((sigma)/(2 E_(0)))hatn` where `hatn` is a unit vector normal to the plane and acting away from the plane.
