State and explain Boyle's law....

State and explain Boyle's law.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

It states that the volume of a `g_(n)` mass of a gas is inversely proportional to it pressure provided the temperature remains constant.
`Vxx(1)/(P)` (or) `V=(k)/(P)` (or) PV = constant
Its value depends on (i) mass of the gas (ii) its temperature and (iii) the units in which p and v are measured.
`P_(1)&V_(1)` - initial values of pressure and volume
`P_(2)&V_(2)` - Final values of pressure and volume then accumulate the Boyle's law `P_(1)V_(1)=P_(2)V_(2)` Graph between P vs V and `Pvs(1)/(V)` for a `g_(n)` mass a gas a constant temperature T are shown below.
