Give the expression for internal energy...

Give the expression for internal energy of a monotamic gas.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Energy per molecule is given by `((f)K_(B)T)/(2)` where number of degrees of freedom (f) for monoatomic gas is purely translatory and is equal to 3.
Hence energy per molecule = `((3)/(2))K_(B)T`.
