Given ` Y = 19.6 m, x = 500 m , theta = 0^@ , g = 10 ms^(-2)`
wkt ` y = (V_0 sin theta) t - 1/2 "gt"^2`
i.e., ` - 19.6 = 0 - 1/2 xx 10 xx t^2`
i.e., ` (19.6 xx 2)/( 10 ) = t^2`
or ` t = sqrt(1.96xx 2) = 1.98 s `
also wkt ` x = (V_0 cos theta) t `
i.e., ` 500 = V_0 (cos 0^@ ) (1.98 )`
`therefore V_0 = (500 )/(1.98 ) = 252.52 ms^(-1)`
