Explain nuclear chain reaction.

When the nucleus of `U^(238)` undergoes fission, 2 or 3 neutrons are released with fission fragments and energy . These neutrons can cause fission in other nuclei producing more neutrons. The process continues till all the nuclei of the sample undergo nuclear fission. This is called nuclear chain reaction.
