Among plants ,fungi, bacteria and animals,those that have had their DNA manipulated to possess and express an extra (foreign) gene ,are known as genetically modifed organisms .The two factors on which the behaviour of such organisms depend are,
(i) The nature of the gene transferred and
(ii) The nature of the host cell.
