Subshell concept is introduced in order to explain the give structure of hydrogen. i.e. every shell consists of subshells which slightly differ in their energies ex:- K shell has oniy one subshell (S - subshell), L shell has to subshells (Sand P subshells) M shell has three subshells (S, P and d subshells)
