Explain Thomson's atom mode/plum pudding model.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Thomson proposed that an atom consists of a uniform sphere of positive electricity in which the electrons are distributed more (or) less uniformly. This model assumed that mass of the atom is evenly spread over the entire atom.
The model also explain electrical neutrality of atom.
