`Ni + 4CO overset(330 - 350 K)rarr underset("Nickel tetra carbonyl")(Ni(CO)_(4))`
Step 2 : This complex on further heating decomposed giving the pure metal.
`Ni(CO)_(4) overset(450 - 470 K)rarr Ni + 4CO`.
