One body is suspended from a spring of length `l`, spring constant `k` and has time period `T`, Now if spring is divided in two equal parts which are joined in paralled and the same body is suspended from this arrangements then determine new time period.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Spring constant in parallel combination
`K'= 2K + 2K = 4K`
`therefore T' = 2pi sqrt(m/K')= 2pi sqrt((m)/(4K))`
`T' = 2pi sqrt(m/K)xx(1)/(sqrt4)= (T)/( sqrt4) = (T)/(2)`
