A uniform rod of length `l` and mass `m` is hung from, strings of equal length from a ceiling as shown in figure. Determine the tensions in the strings?

Let us assume that tension in left and right string is `T_A` and `T_B` respectively. Then
Rod is in equilibrium then `vecF_("net")=0&vectau_("net") =0`
From `vecF_("net")=0`
`mg = T_A + T_B " ...(1)"`

From `tau_("net") = 0 ` about A
`mg""l/2 - (3l)/'4 T_B=0`
`rArr" "T_B = (2mg)/3`
From eq. (1) `T_A +(2mg)/3 = mg`
`rArr" "T_a = (mg)/3`
