Three lenses of forcal lengths +10 , -10 cm and +30 cm are placed at distance of 30 cm , 35 cm and 45 cm respectively from an object.
The distance between the object and the image formed is

A

100 cm

B

75 cm

C

30 cm

D

45 cm

The correct Answer is:
B

Three lenses of focal length 10,-10 and 30 cm is given in figure ,

Now using lens formula, distance of image from lens A
`1/(V_A) -1/(u_A) =1/(f_A) rArr 1/(V_A) -1/(-30)=1/(+10) rArr V_A =+ 15 cm `
Similarly, distance of image from lens B ,
`1/(V_B)-1/(+10)=-1/(10) rArr V_B = oo`
Distance of image from lens C.
`1/(V_c)-1/(oo)=1/(30) rArr V_c = +30 cm`
Hence, the total distance between object and image,
`d_T = d_(0C) +V_C =(30 _45) cm = 75 cm `

The focal lengths of the objective and the eye - piece of a compound microscope are 2.0 cm and 3.0 cm respectively. The distance between the objective and the eye - piece is 15.0 cm. The final image formed by the eye - piece is at infinity. The two lenses are thin. The distances in centimeters of the object and image produced by the objective measured from the objective respectively.

The two lenses of a compound microscope are of focal lengths 2 cm and 5 cm. If an object is placed at a distance of 2.1 cm from the objective of focal length 2 cm the final image forms at the final image forms at the least distance of distinct vision of a normal eye. Find the magnifying power of the microscope.

The focal length of the objective and eyepiece of a compound microscope are 4 cm and 6 cm respectively. If an object is placed at a distance of 6cm from the objective, what is the magnification produced by the microscope ?
