So, in this reaction potassium tert-butoxide in tert-butyl alcohol `[(CH_3)_3CO^-K^+"in"(CH_3)_3COH]` is used to obtain tha maximum percentage of terminal alkene by dehydrohalogenation of `CH_3CH_2C(CH_3)_2`Br.
Note-When a more hindered is used, more of the thermodynamically less terminal alkene is generated,.
