A ball is thrown at a speed of 20 m/s at an angle of `30 ^@` with the horizontal . The maximum height reached by the ball is
(Use `g=10 m//s^2`)

A

2m

B

3m

C

4m

D

5m

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
D

Answer(4) Maximum height reached, `H_max = (u^2 sin^2 theta)/2g`
= `(20)^2 sin^2(30^@)`/2(10).
= `(400 xx 1/4) / 20` `[therefore sin^2theta = (sintheta)^2]` .
`therefore H_max` =5m .
