For the reaction 2SO(2)(g)+O(2)(g)hArr2S...

For the reaction `2SO_(2)(g)+O_(2)(g)hArr2SO_(3)(g),K_(p)=3xx10^(24)` at `25^(@)C`. Find the value of `K_(c)`.

Text Solution

For the given reaction, `Deltan=2-(2+1)=-1`
As given, `K_(p)=3xx10^(24),T+(273+25)=298K` and
`R=0.0821L*atm*mol^(-1)*K^(-1)`
We know `K_(p)=K_(c)(RT)^(Deltan)`
or, `3xx10^(24)=K_(c)(0.0821xx298)^(-1)`
`therefore K_(c)=3xx10^(24)xx0.0821xx298=7.34xx10^(25)`.
