The value of ionisation constant of pyridine `(C_(5)H_(5)N)` at `25^(@)C` is `1.6xx10^(-9)`. What is the concentration of `OH^(-)` ions in a 0.1 (M) aqueous solution of pyridine at that temperature ?

Pyridine is a monoacidic base. In aqueous solutions of such bases, `[OH^(-)]=sqrt(cxxK_(b))`, where, c=initial concentration of the base and `K_(b)`=ionisation constant of the weak base.
As `c=0.1(M) and K_(b)=1.6xx10^(-9)`,
in 0.1 (M) aqueous pyridine solution,
`[OH^(-)]=sqrt(0.1xx1.6xx10^(-9))=1.26xx10^(-5)(M)`.
