Differentiate between the principles of Dumas method & Kjedahl's method.

Verified by Experts

In Dumas method, nitrogenous orgainc compound is decomposed to produce gaseous nitrogen. Measured volume of `N_(2)` is used to calrulate the % of nitrogen in the given compound. In Kjedhal's method, nitrogenous organic compound is decomposed to produce `(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)` which is further decomposed to give `NH_(3)`. Amount of `NH_(3)` so formed is used to calculate the % of nitrogen in the compound.
