Use of Lindlar's catalyst: This catalyst is used for addition of 1 molecule `H_2` i.e., for partial hydrogenation of an alkyne. As cis-hydrogenation takes place in this case,a cis-alkene can be prepared from a non-terminal alkyne by using this catalyst.
