As the compound absorbs one mole of hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst, the compound is obviously an alkene. On ozonolysis, it given a dicarbonyl compound, So, the alkene is a cyclic alkene. The structure of the alkene is obtained by writing the 2 O-atoms of hexanedial `(OHC CH_(2) CH_(2)CH_(2)CH_(2)CHO)` face to face followed by removing the two oxygen atoms and joining the two carbonyl carbons by a double bond. Hence, the hydrocarbon `(C_(6)H_(10))` is cyclohexene.
