Standard electrode potential of `Fe^(2+)|Fe and Ag^(+)|Ag` are `-0.44V and +0.80V`. Therefore Fe has a higher tendency to get oxidised i.e., it acts as a stronger reductant than Ag.
Simultaneously `Fe^(2+)` has lesser tendency to get reduced to form Fe. Hence the reaction can not take place.
