Which of the following solutions has the higher molar conductivity at a given temperature, and why?
(i) `"0.1 M "Na_(2)SO_(4)`
(ii) `"0.01 M "Na_(2)SO_(4)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`Na_(2)SO_(4)` is a strong electrolyte. For a strong electrolyte, molar conductivity increases with increase in dilution. Therefore 0.01 (M) `Na_(2)SO_(4)` solution has higher molar conductivity than 0.1 (M) `Na_(2)SO_(4)` solution.
