For the infinitely dilute aqueous solutions of LiCl, NaCl and KCl , what will the order of their molar conductivities be at a given temperature ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since the anions of the given of the given salts are the same , the difference in their `Delta_(eq)^(@)` is due to differences in conducting of the cations , As the ionic conductances of `Li^(+),Na^(+)and K^(+)` in aqueous solution follow the order :`Li^(+)ltNa^(+)lt K^(+)` the molar conductivities at infinite dilution for the aqueous solutions of LiCl , NaCl and KCl will follow the order : `LiCl lt NaCl lt KC`
