A solution of `Nl(NO_(3))_(2)` is electrolysed between platinum electrodes using a current of 5 A for 20 min. What mass of Ni is deposited at the cathode ?

Given, I = 5A, t = 20 min `= 20xx60s`
`Q = It = 5xx20xx60=6000 C`
The electrode reaction is : `Ni^(2+)+2e rarr Ni`
Thus `2F(i.e., 2xx96500 C)` deposit = 1 mol of `Ni=58.7 g`
`therefore 6000 C` will deposit `= (58.7)/(2xx96500)xx6000 =1.825 g`
