A first order reaction takes 30 minutes for 50% completion. Calculate the time required for 90% completion of this reaction . (log2=0.3010)

For a first order reaction , the integrated rate law is
`k=(2.303)/(t)log.([A]_(0))/([A])`
when t = 30 minutes , [A] `=([A]_(0))/(2)`
This gives `k=(2.303)/(30)log2=0.0231"min"^(-1)`
If the time required for 90% completion of the reaction is t, then
`t=(2.303)/(0.0231)log.([A]_(0))/([A]_(0)-0.9[A]_(0))=99.69` minutes.
