Which one between `N_(2)O` and `NO_(2)` molecules is more polar? Explain.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`NO_(2)` is more polar than `N_(2)O`. This is because the resultant moment of two N-O bonds in angular `NO_(2)` molecule is greater than the moment contributed by the only one N-O bond in linear `N_(2)O` molecule.
