Decide which of the given atomic numbers...

Decide which of the given atomic numbers are the atomic numbers of the inner transition elements. Atomic Number (Z) : 29, 59, 74, 95, 102, 104.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Inner transition or f-block elements include lanthanoids (Z = 58 to 71, in which differentiating electron enters 4f- subshell) and actinoids (Z = 90 to 103, in which differentiating enters 5f-subshell). Hence, the elements with atomic numbers 59, 95 and 102 are inner transition elements.
