Calculate the magnetic moment of a divalent ion in aqueoues solution if its atomic number is 25.

The divalent ion (no. of electrons `= 25-2 = 23`) has the outer electronic cofiguration : `3d^(5)4s^(0)` in aqueous solution. So it has five unpaired electrons.
`therefore` Magnetic moment `mu = sqrt(5(5+2))=5.92BM`
