How is the variability in oxidation states of transition metals different from that of the non - transition metals ? Illustrate with examples.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In the case of transition metls, the oxidation states differ from each other by unity, whereas in the case of non-transition metals oxidation states usually differ by two units.
