Define the term "amorphous". Give a few example of amorphous solids.

Amorphous or amorphous solids imply those solids in which the constituent particles have short range order. These have irregular shapes and are isotropic in nature. Apart from that they do not have sharp melting point. A few examples of amorphous solids are : glass, rubber, plastic, celluose etc.
