The oxidation can be carried by a reagent PC C (Pyridine chlorochromate). It can be prepared by mixing pyridine `(C_(5)H_(5)N). CrO_(3)` and HCI in the presence of dichloromethane which acts as a solvent. It oxidises secindray alcoholic group without affecting double bond present in cojugate position Thus it is a mild oxidising agent.
